Course Overview
As climate change continues to drive the frequency and severity of natural disasters, effective financial risk management tools are essential. The second part of the Climate Risk Insurance Webinar Series builds upon foundational knowledge to provide a deeper understanding of the pricing, modelling, and practical application of climate risk insurance across vulnerable sectors.
This advanced module explores key mechanisms such as climate risk modelling, risk pooling, and claims management. It also evaluates the real-world benefits and challenges of climate risk insurance through sectoral case studies and innovations like picture-based monitoring, blockchain technology, and climate scoring tools.
Participants will gain practical insights into how climate risk insurance is being designed and implemented to strengthen resilience in sectors including agriculture, trade, built systems, health, infrastructure, and energy.

Logistics
The webinar is free of charge. Participants are required to have a good internet connection and a digital device - preferably a laptop or tablet. The training will be conducted via the ZEP-RE Academy LMS. Participants will be required to create an account on the LMS to update their profile and gain access to the course.
Delivery
There shall be a 90-minute presentation by the facilitators followed by a 30-minute Question & Answer session to address any questions, comments, or observations from participants.
