INTRODUCTION

The Proficiency in Short-Term Reinsurance Practice and Claims Management Course 
(PSTRP) is a comprehensive examinable training program which combines all key 
reinsurance functions of underwriting, program design, accounting, reinsurance portfolio 
placement and claims management. It is designed to equip the trainees with technical 
reinsurance knowledge and skills that would enable them carry out reinsurance 
underwriting, accounting and claims tasks competently.

COURSE DURATION
This is a 5 day intensive training program with mandatory morning and afternoon sessions.

TARGET GROUP

The PSTRP program is intended for all employees of reinsurance and insurance companies, 
insurance regulators, (re)insurance brokers and insurance agents employees deployed in 
the underwriting, claims or accounting departments of the organization.

CII CPD ACCREDITATION

Delegates participating in the Proficiency in Short-Term Reinsurance Practice and Claims 
Management (PSTRP) course can claim CPD hours towards the CII member CPD scheme.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Participants must be employees working within the target group with at least 2 years 
experience in reinsurance-related work.

ASSESSMENT & EXAMINATION

The PSTRP course will be assessed through Continuous Assessment Tests (CATs) and a 
Final Exam administered by the College of Insurance Kenya in conjunction with the ZEP-RE 
Academy.

LOGISTICS

Participants MUST have a laptop or tablet to access study material and sit the 
assessment tests and examinations to be administered online.

REGISTRATION FEE

Each participant is required to pay a registration fee of USD 400 to attend this Workshop.
(Note that this fee covers registration only. Travelling participants are required to meet 
their own cost of travel, accommodation and upkeep). All payments must be received in full
